Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation

Musculoskeletal Rehabilitation Services

We see clients at various stages of their recovery from a musculoskeletal condition. Clients are referred to us following a motor vehicle accident, a work-related injury or as a result of an acquired condition.

Occupational therapy interventions include assessment/provision of equipment or aids to maximize function, adaptation of the environment, education/training regarding body mechanics/positioning.

A Physiotherapist may be available to provide orthopaedic assessment/consultation to set up a rehabilitation program to improve the client’s physical functioning.

A guided exercise program may be set up with one of our Kinesiologists or Rehabilitation Assistants either in the home or at their local
community facility.

When clients are ready to return to work, a job site assessment and return to work planning can be initiated. Our occupational therapists work with the employer to address any equipment needs or work site adaptations and to facilitate a gradual return to work when the client is ready for vocational re-integration.

“My OT was there for me every step of the way and checked in often; she set up and encouraged me through my Graduated Return to Work Process, helped me with symptom management, getting back to being active and always made sure that I was looked after by my employer.” Client who returned to work following a work place injury.
